Notice of Earning USDA Certified Biobased Product Label

DAIWABO RAYON CO., LTD., having its registered office in Chuo-ku, Osaka, Japan, represented by Kazunari Fukushima, President (hereafter referred to as “our company”), has recently earned the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Certified Biobased Product label.

Based on USDA BioPreferred® Program, the certification is granted to the products derived from renewable resources such as agricultural, marine, and forestry materials. The USDA BioPreferred Program, in which companies from 37 countries in Europe and America, and Asia is participating, promotes the reduction of dependence on petroleum derived materials and the use of renewable materials. With the increasing demands for eco-friendly products, the number of the companies acquiring this certification has been rising around the world to prove that they use biological raw materials, and more than 1,000 companies have acquired this sustainability certification mainly in Europe and America.

Many of our products have gained this certification with the biobased content of 98% (please contact the person in charge for the product details). Our company is the first fiber manufacturer who acquired the certification in Japan.

Our viscose rayon fiber is a regenerated fiber produced from wood pulp and it returns to soil due to its biodegradability after disposal. We will keep contributing to the realization of a sustainable society by continuing to use renewable resources and reducing environmental impacts in the situation that the reduction of the use of limited fossil resources are required.
